Yellow Wall
The „yellow wall“ as term for the south stand in Dortmund should be known to every football supporter, at least in Germany. Almost 25.000 supporters create a sizzling black and yellow mass, build of all kinds of supporters. That, of course, creates some potential for some conflicts but also large possibilities to actually influence the things going on in the club and fanscene. With Gelbe Wand we try to create as much contact as possible between the different supporters clubs. Most of the times a chat is enough to solve problems that occur between fans and fangroups. But often it simply lacks of a person to contact. And just as often a lot of supporters clubs have the same needs but all that is missing is a way to canalize these needs, so everyone „cooks its own soup“ and the great potential remains unused.Under the label „yellow wall“ we want to solve these problems. We don't want to be some kind of association with organizational structures but function as a lose community of supporters clubs and groups with the aim to establish contact and, if needed, to innate projects. Suggestions for all this are always welcome, obligations to be part of a project or actions don't exist.
The name „yellow wall“ was born after the “The Unity” (Dortmund Ultra group) Choreo 2005 at the match against Hansa Rostock. Who witnessed it will never forget the incredible look.
„The yellow wall is explicit no label to finance our Choreos. It is meant to be reservoir and label for activities which have to do with the targets which were mentioned earlier. To be part of the yellow wall means, from our point of view, to be ready to do more than just consum football, to become a fan which wants to actively participate in the fanscene and the club. Everybody, who finds himself in this is invited to join under the label „yellow wall“ and participate. For example we created a round table with several fanclubs and groups who want to encourage themselves in that matter. From our point of view there are still a lot of possibilities in the „yellow wall“.. So there is still a lot of room to fill for us all and everyone, who wants to help is invited to contact us,,
First results of this closer fan engagement are already visible. During our 100 year choreo in December 2009 a lot of fans from outside the ultra scene were involved and that at temperatures of -10 ° and below. The result was the greatest view in the entire history. We also paved the way to a fan friendly celebration of our 100th birthday, next door to the official BVB celebration that night Acting together and having the same aims have positive effects for everyone. The atmosphere in Dortmund’s fanscene became much better over the last years and that also is the result of the yellow wall, since there was more talking and problems were solved on the „short way“. There is also a good relationship with Borussia Dortmund. We don't agree on everything and in the future we will defend our interests but with the CEO of the Borussia Dortmund KGaA and the supporters department in the club we have partners who respect us fans and are eager to hear our opinion on fan topics. That is not the case in every club and we are thankful for this possibility. Together we want to come closer to the idea of a „Borussenfamily”. To get in touch with us just use: info@gelbewand.de
